I've attached a changes script. You put it into a subdirectory of
/root (/root/7.4 unless you hack it) and in that subdirectory place
file.lua (modified) and file.lau.orig (what you started with). You add
the full path name of file.lua in the obvious place in the script.

after a firmware upgrade, run changes and it will check that the base
hasn't changed, and if it hasn't, replace it with the new version.

while you're experimenting,
changes file.lua
will update the copy from what's in 7.4 without a check.

reboot command will reboot the jive.

if you mess up and the jive gets into a reboot loop, hold down vol+
until it boots cleanly.

(attachment rules force me to call it changes.txt)

(I'm currently maintaining changes which make fwd/rew go to the
scanner, and turn off the new home key behavior that always goes to the
first entry.)
