I have upgraded two systems from 7.3.4 to latest 7.4. My own and recently my neighbours. In both cases, the upgrade on the computer went OK, but the controller refuses to upgrade to the latest version. Tried rebooting controller etc....to no avail. To get my own system working, (a month or so back), I uninstalled, cleared internet cache, opened registry editor and searched for and deleted every single mention of squeeze* This took a long time, but it was the only way I could get the controller to upgrade to 7.4.xxx
For my neighbours system, I uninstalled 7.3.4, installed 7.4.28576. Found squeezebox (duet) OK, plays music OK, but the log onto SqueezeNetwork fails because I cannot find the id of the duet box. This is because the damned controller is stuck at 7.3.** Reset controller & rebooted. Still no success in getting the controller to upgrade. 'Upgrade software' shows nothing to upgrade. How are folks supposed to upgrade from 7.3.4? Wipe squeeze from the registry? I hope there is a simpler way. Based on my experience on two systems it simply does not work 'out of the box' unless your system has been cleansed of all 'squeeze' stuff beforehand. I didn't post anything based on my initial difficulties on my own system, but now that its happened twice, I'm wondering if this is a common problem. (my system running vista, his on Xp) Dan -- chinablues ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chinablues's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7955 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68145 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
