Problem solved: A full firmware reinstall (per reset and power button) on the readynas did the trick.
But what is annoying to me: I used to have a standard configuration on the readynas (never did any manual install nor installed any 3rd-party addon). So there seems to be something wrong in the install/uninstall functionality of the squeezebox server/center software for the readynas.
