Yes, so you do have FLAC and ID3 tags present. If you have the latest version
of 7.5.0, the scanner will now read all id3 tags that it understands, and then
overwrite the content with any FLAC tags it understands. Still not sure where
we are with multi-value tags; I think comments are kept from all tag formats
read, but not sure about artists, genres, years, etc.

The View Tags page doesn't tell you which items are read and have an influence
on the end music library content, and are sorted in alphabetical order.

I think it would help if each item had after it the source tag type, so eg.
TALB (id3v2.3), and that the tags are listed in the order that the scanner
would read them (all id3v1 first, then all id3v2, and then all FLAC for
example). Also, if it could mark the ones that are influencing the music
library that would help. eg. TALB (id3) is read but is overridden by Album
(FLAC).

>The tags MP3Tag doesn't show (like TALB) are in contradiction with
>the FLAC tags (Album)
I think this could happen quite a lot. Some editors may store FLAC+id3 (I
think Mp3Tag used to do this by default - I've changed my prefs, not sure what
the default is now), whereas a lot of editors won't read the id3 tags and will
leave them as they are.

If you were to clear certain FLAC fields, SBS would then see the data from id3
tags. eg. clear the album tag, and you'd get the TALB content.

>Don't mess with this, it worked perfectly.
I agree. Read FLAC if FLAC tags are present. Only read id3 if there's no FLAC
(unlikely). That's both faster and safer. I see nothing to be gained from
reading both (esp. for FLAC files, which should always have FLAC tags).

Combining tags from different tag blocks may catch a lot of people out in many
different ways. Some will be very subtle. There's going to be no-end of posts
in the forum/calls to support.

Mp3Tag is one of the most used taggers - it's quite popular with users in this
forum, and now SBS scanner works differently to how Mp3Tag works. Mp3Tag will
display that there are multiple tag formats associated with a file, but will
only read one of them. That is sensible.
