i understand, and when i rip a song to wav, it probably takes around 30
seconds or so per song.

however, only when the wav is complete does the encoding start, and
that can take a min or two, and it creates 2 temp files and deletes the
orig wav.

moreover, rips to wav of a whole album typically outpace the encoding
speed, so they wait a bit.

again, if none of this is problematic for SBS then kool and the gang. 
but i just wanted to note it, b/c it struck me as something that might
be an issue.
