Got r29857 working nicely whole afternoon on my ReadyNAS, so decided to install it on my Mac tonight.
The Mac gets the music folder mounted from the ReadyNAS through AFP, and not under /Volumes, in case this matters. I continuously watched the ReadyNAS' SBS CPU usage and server.log file during the afternoon, and didn't detect anything suspect with the auto detect changes feature, except that it seemed to start itself from time to time (once an hour or so). But at the moment SBS was also installed on the Mac and had its first full scan finished, the two SBS instances entered a permanently scanning loop, bringing the NV+ down on its knees. I first thought that, like on the Touch, the DB files were written on the music folder, which triggered concurrent scans. But it didn't looked like so. I then decided I'd better deactivate the auto detect changes feature on one of the two SBS instances... but couldn't find the option on the Mac's SBS instance? The only thing that possibly could have changed something in the Music folder is the Mac's Spotlight search engine, but I'm not even sure it would write anything in the folders it scans (but maybe those .AppleDouble pesky files?). -- sebp Transporter, SB Classic, SB Receiver, SB Boom, SB Radio, SB Touch, 2 SB Controllers Will soon need a bigger home - 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/sebp) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sebp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11768 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71768 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
