Have exactly the same problem, on ReadyNAS Duo, it seems to scan everything and then it deletes everything it scanned, except for the files in the playlists. I wanted to try out the the 7.5 embedded because stable 7.4.2 is becoming very slow with more that 1000 artists or albums in the list. Actually I don't care about the scanning speed, I think most people don't. As long as the interface is still responsive with a lot of albums and artists, that's the most important thing. The 7.4.2 scan for new files scanner finished in 30 min and that is fast enough. Why not first get the basics right and then do the fancy stuff? I never understood why the list of artists and the list of albums isn't cached locally on the squeezebox. It would make browsing these two most important lists infinetely more speedy. Is this technically not possible?
