Michael,

Let's discuss this offline, but I've talked about this with Alan and
the original direction would have been a serious issue for me
especially for iPad.
Alan's aware of it now so he's probably considering it so it may not be
an issue.

I agree the problem is that some of the things I do, especially around
context menus are kind of hacky but that's mainly in absence of
a"clean" solution to do the same.

At the core of it is the fact that I don't use menu mode queries for
the local library (which helps since that way this is not affected by
the change) but there ARE cases where one of these queries originated
from a Squeezeplay menu, especially context menus.
This means I can't live with a content agnostic interface. I need model
information and can't live with a pure presentation layer kind of data.
We had a similar issue in the past with TrackInfo and I believe Andy
fixed it back then or the switch to context menus/songinfo did.
