If I remember correctly it has also been discussed a long time ago, don't remember exactly where but it might be somewhere related to the new schema discussions. Personally I still think the IR interface on Classic/Boom/Transporter IR interface works correctly and the SqueezeOS IR interface is incorrect. Still, I think I'd actually prefer that the same IR remote worked the same way independently if I pointed it towards a Classic or a Touch.
