I "got it" pretty immediately. I set up the server, found squeezeslave and squeezeplay and then went about outfitting each room in my house with a squeezebox radio.
So, back to your questions: I want FAVORITES first, and I want to be able to manage and order favorites and nested subdirectories as I please. I want to be able to list canned searches of local content, rss feeds, or mysqueezebox apps as favorites. I want to be able to either alpha sort my favorites, or at least have some way to edit a config file directly and change custom sort order. I'm okay if there's no GUI and it require me to vi a config file to do this -- I just don't want to break any other functionality by doing so. I want to have "on mysqueezebox.com" favorites to just be like any other favorites -- not in a separate menu My listening patterns seem to be trending more towards streaming content -- The SB Radios really have replaced my radio - I'd say about 50% of what I listen to is web streaming of local radio. Probably another 25% is streaming from Pandora or Slacker. Based on that, the first few menu items are not relevant to 3/4 of my listening. Also, I'm the only one in the household that is going to reconfigure or set any options on these -- I'm more likely to prefer to do this centrally, and remove any options from the menu that aren't required to play or stream audio. Everyone else in the house will appreciate FEWER menu options in the name of SIMPLICITY. Aside from local controls for radios, we do use ipeng on an ipad to control grouping of players, but I want to make it just about as easy to select predefined player groupings from a preset menu as it is to launch something from a nested "favorites" menu. -Ross -- rcampbel3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rcampbel3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38284 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80658 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
