I also looked at your suspected reasons in 'post #30 of this thread' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=565065#post565065), and I would say that your #1 and #2 describe my situation pretty well. Ben mentioned that at this stage he was focusing on re-ordering, and fortunately that alone will get me most of the way to where I want to go.
Looking at my first pass at customizing menus with 7.6 I really haven't changed that much yet. Here are the un-customized (or semi-customized, since I do control what appears on the Home menu) in 7.5.1: SBC1: NP My Music: artists / albums / genres / years / new music / random mix / music folder / playlists / dynamic playlists / search / switch library Extras: other players / SDT / The Sync / SPC My Apps: AccuRadio / BBC / Last.fm / LMA / Live365 / Napster / Odeo / Pandora / Podcast Player / RadioTime / Rhapsody / SHOUTcast / Slacker / SomaFM / Sounds & Effects / radioio Favorites: as per my choice Napster Pandora Turn On <player> Choose Player Search Settings: shuffle / repeat / spicefly / alarm clock / audio / home menu / image viewer / screen / sleep / SB name / sync / advanced Touch: My Music SD card Internet Radio: NPR Radio > list of shows (because of an applet???) At least not yet. I've moved Favorites, Napster, and Pandora up in the Home menu, and re-ordered the My Music and Extras sub-menus to put the things I use more often at the top. I've put another thing I use often (Turn On/Off) at the bottom of the Home menu to take advantage of a quick, blind spin-and-stop to get there. Later on I may move Choose Player to that last space, but definitely it's a waste (for me) to have Settings sitting there at the end. And I'll probably move/hide some things in Settings to make things more streamlined for me. Being able to re-order MyApps would be a nice treat.
