After a reboot however, it > starts a complete, new rescan... > Now trying to figure out which plugin causes the problems... > What I know is this: 1. Those of my plugins that does operations based on "rescan done" even don't work with 7.6 with auto scanning enabled and can't easily be made to work until something like enhancement '#6023' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6023) is implemented. Fortunately it's targeted to 7.6 and P1 priority and I've been ensured that it will be solved, so I just suggest that people don't use my plugins with 7.6 until then. The status is: - Custom Scan: Be prepared for trouble since it performs a complete rescan every time an auto scanning is triggered. - Multi Library: Should be fairly safe as long as you disable the "Rescan refresh" option, you will still have to refresh the libraries manually after a SBS rescan if you like accurate libraries. - TrackStat: Should be fairly safe as long as you disable the "Refresh statistic after rescan" option, just note that this will make you loose the ability to keep statistics when renaming/moving files. You should be able to trigger a manual refresh from the TrackStat settings page when you need to.
2. Any plugins that write playlists trigger a rescan every time a playlist is changed. This was at least the case a few months ago but I haven't checked if it have changed since then. Anyway, this cause mayor problem with: - TrackStat Playlist: Every time a track is played or rated a rescan was triggered - Playlist Generator: Could cause endless rescans if activated to be triggered on SBS rescans in Custom Scan settings. If you run it manually it will just trigger a SBS rescan once which will trigger a full Custom Scan rescan. 3. None of my plugins have been tested with 7.6 and I don't intend to do any major upgrades to them until either 7.6 is getting close to a release or I know where the 'music discovery related initiative' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80910) is going. There is just too much work to continuously keeping them updated towards a beta SBS when you don't even know what changes are planned. Besides my plugins I know at least LazySearch is triggering operations based on rescan event but I suspect that's just going to slow down the performance a bit, it will still work since LazySearch refresh is fairly fast. So anyone that have problems with 7.6 and scanning, please make sure you don't have the above mentioned plugins install before complaining on Logitech. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland).
