I don't understand how a problem like this can just sit in limbo for so long. The remote used to set and recall favorites through 'hot keys'. That was changed when SbS went to per-player presets. But nobody ever addressed the IR end of things.

IIRC, numbers corresponding to the 0 9 buttons on the remotes used to be a part of the web interface, but no longer. 'Bug 15018: Press hold ir number buttons behavior - support presets?' I can see from server.prefs that each player appears to have up to 10 presets. Why not just allow them to be set and played using long presses of the 0 through 9 numbered buttons on the remote.
