2. Mac OS, though the library is stored on the NAS: QNAP TS-259 3. That share is Multimedia with rights for "everyone" to read/write. I've auto mount every time a restart the computer to every share on my NAS (ethernet no wireless). So the Itunes library files such as the xml library file is stored on the NAS as well (the whole library). I've never discovered this "error" before. Currently running 7.5.1 without any missing tracks in the import.
