Maybe, maybe not. But your configuration, with MacOS using a Linux
file-server which is also where SbS runs, is probably unusual.

I'll need your help as I do not have a configuration like yours.
- Can you attach a part (I do not need the whole file) of your
itunes.xml file (or iTunes Music Library.xml, or whatever it is
called in your version) which includes some relevant files. Please do
the editing of the file (if necessary) on the Qnap system, not
remotely from the Mac. Please zip the file before attaching it.
- Using a remote login shell on the Qnap, navigate to the directory
containing the files in the xml file above (with non-ASCII
filenames). Include the output of the following commands:
