Hmm... maybe I filed a bugreport prematurely. Thanks, I'll follow your instructions and see if it helps. What I did was do a fresh Deb install (for my backup server), and install the latest unstable.
BTW, and slightly off topic (or rather forum), do you use the browse-by-folder functionality? In the stable/testing series, I can't get the cue-embedded files to play if I browse music folder and select the album folder or album FLAC file.
