I have done a number of comparisons between 7.6 trunk and onebrowser. I see no significant difference in memory use, either total VM or RSS (resident). I also tried all the most-expensive browsing steps that I could think of.
On Linux, with auto-update on a with a remote (NFS-mounted) library I see no memory leak. Now, I'm not saying that there is no leak, just any leak is not obviously related to onebrowser. On the face of it (again, under Linux) 7.6 looks quite a bit bigger than 7.5. My total VM size on a 64-bit system is around 840MiB. I do not have the big-memory option enabled. On 7.5 it was about 310MiB plus around 200MiB for mysql. But reported VM size can be difficult to interpret, given options such a memory-mapping files and system buffer usage. It is not fundamentally bigger and it actually contains quite a bit less code. I have implemented paging in the WebUI. -- awy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ awy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7480 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85895 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
