Under Windows I just run from a checkout of the SVN source. I have two parallel environments: - my "production" build, which is 7.5.5 and runs as a windows service. - a beta build, which is 7.6, and I run it up from time to time to see if it's any less sick.
Each environment picks up a different prefs folder, pointing at a different cache folder, so I can easily stop one SBS and start the other one, without one environment affecting any content in the other. It works fine for me, and it's not complicated. Other (minor) problems with this are that each player requests different firmware when switching frequently, otherwise I could run both SBS versions in parallel, and "switch server" (if I configured different ports). _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
