I do agree with almost everything you wrote in previous posts.
The question for the community today is the following

- Will Logitech continue to build Squeezebox hardware ?

I consider being a member of the community, and probably owned
squeezeboxes before people who have probably never serioulsy used other
software if they think SBS performs well, and probably don't know a lot
about serious software development if they don't understand that the
common code for all platforms generate a serious performance
bottleneck.

As a member of the community who would like to be able to buy again
squeezebox hardware product in the future, so need Logitech, or similar
company to build it, and being quite experienced in software
development, I came to the following conclusions :

- Logitech is not a software company and cannot achieve a competitive
SBS allowing them to go on building squeezeboxes hardware with the
curretn situation. It is not Slimdevices, they need volume, I am sure
the critical volume isn't reached today, and by far.

- Logitech is a successful hardware company.

- I see no other option than making squeezeboxes hardware something
like "network sound cards" and providing drivers so that much better
software than SBS can allow people to use them.

You will always find people waiting for a company to build the hardware
they like, and for developpers or kind plugins authors to write the
software they want, but are unable to develop themselves.
The day Logitech stops to build the hardware, who is going to do that ?
what will SBS be useful for ?
