Do you have any third party plugins installed ? (Specifically TrackStat
or Custom Scan)
The background scheduler seems to be more aggressive in 7.6 compared to
7.5 so Custom Scan is known to cause disturbed playback in 7.6 while it
works reasonably good in 7.5.
