Wasn't the purpose of SoftSqueeze/SqueezePlay from a sales perspective
that it was possible to demonstrate the system before you purchased the
hardware.
I'm pretty sure neither Logitech nor Slim Devices ever thought it was a
good idea that Roku could use SBS for their hardware. With UPnP we are
basically talking about similar things, making it possible to use SBS
with commercial third party hardware/software UPnP clients. It really
doesn't make much sense for Logitech to prioritize these in same way as
it has never been any sense to prioritize Roku compatibility.
Of course, the main purpose of SoftSqueeze/SqueezePlay is as a
simulator during development and for this it will make sense to support
something similar also for the Revue to make it easier for the
developers. However, I'm guessing they might already have a way to run
the Revue software on a computer, so it's probably not an issue.
The strange thing, is that Logitech developers really seem to give
third party UPnP clients some priority, because there have been many
bug corrections related to problems with third party UPnP clients, I'm
not sure if this is a management priority or if it's just something
prioritized by the developers.
