Is SBS really stoped before you do the upgrade ? RPM with -Uvh should protests do you see any ##### marks while installing, no messages of any kind
Sometimes the "service squeezeboxserver stop" comand don't work if you have restarted SBS from the web-UI it migth run as process "perl" by user "squeezeboxserver" .
