No, there are no embedded covers, only cover.jpg files. I see no file paths stored in the coverid column of the tracks table, only 8 digit hex numbers. It's defined as char(8). Most albums have all the same coverid for all tracks in an album and cover_cached=1. Albums scanned as changed during a new & changed scan all have different coverids and cover_cache=NULL.
