Am I missing something or does this change also mean that I MUST select
all genres a track is tagged with for it to be played ?
For example, if I have:
Track1: Christmas, Pop
Track2: Christmas, Rock
Track3: Pop
Track4: Rock
It seems like in my setup this change means that if I play "Random Mix"
ONLY select "Christmas" it doesn't play any track.
If I select "Christmas" and "Pop" it seems to play Track1 (and also
Track3)
If I select "Christmas" and "Rock" it seems to play Track2 (and also
Track4)
But if I want to play all "Christmas" music I can no longer do that
because checking both "Christmas", "Pop" and "Rock" will make it play
also non Christmas related pop and rock music.
Based on this, it feels like this change have just moved the problem.
With the new solution I have a way to skip Christmas music but I have no
way to limit the selection to Christmas music during the Christmas
season.
Just for information, in SQL Playlist, I've two lists of genres in the
GUI:
- One list of genres to include
- One list of genres to explicitly exclude
This makes it work for both scenarios, but it will make the
configuration a bit more complex so maybe it's too big change ?
It would be great if we could get both an inclusion list and an
exclusion list, but I understand if that will make it too complex.
The new behavior is not an issue for me personally since I use SQL
Playlist based playlists, but I thought I mention it in case other
people doesn't realize the consequence of how it now seems to be
implemented.
