Erland,
thanks a lot for yet another great posting!
I'll try to add my notes to some of the changes:
- Re-implement Podcast plugin to support all players. Allow resuming
a podcast you partially listened to before.
Unfortunately not all podcasts come with length information. Thus the
resume feature doesn't work with all of them.
- Modify Internet Radio integration to work independently from
mysb.com if needed.
That's a bit difficult to test. It's probably easiest to (temporarily)
add an entry to your hosts file which points mysb.com to digital
nirvana. Even better if you have a router with some advanced firmware
which allows you to override some DNS entries. While this will break
many other features, it'll allow you to verify the radio menu is still
working withou mysb.com.
- A new generic image resizing proxy is now built in to LMS. It can
be used instead of the
image proxy hosted on mysqueezebox.com, or independently by
plugins to eg. resize artwork
local to your network (and therefore not reachable by the remote
proxy).
This actually isn't easy to test in an "artificial" test. But I think
those users running my Music & Artist Information plugin already give
that feature a pretty good test ride ;-). Plus the new Radio menu is
already using the local image proxy by default. Enabling debugging for
artwork.imageproxy could give you more information in case you were in
doubt about its working.
- '#8180' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=8180) -
Squeezecenter prevents user logout after restart
- '#17729' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17729) - On
Linux SBS 7.4.1 and above: service cannot be stopped or restarted
after an 'internal' restart
This is another odd-ball. While one of these changes seems to have
"fixed" this issue for some users, it's now broken for some others. This
seems to heavily depend on the Linux distribution, perl version, whatever.
- Don't submit disc number with album names when scrobbling to
last.fm
You'll need to disable "group multiple discs albums" to see this defect.
I'm not sure if community developers prefer that we report bugs in
http://bugs.slimdevices.com or if we should just report them in the
"beta" section of the forum.
I would definitely prefer using bugzilla. It allows for better sorting &
filtering etc. Please use the "Logitech Media Server" product. We can
then target issues we want to fix in 7.8 with this target.
Maybe we should rename this thread to remove the question mark :-). I'll
be happy to help wherever I can.
