With the UE Radio product discontinued, it now seems to me, more rather
than less likely, that a clock is ticking regarding the availability of
any Logitech server resource for the Squeezebox ecosystem. IMHO, we need
to be talking about adding the current versions of the jive/fab4/baby
firmware to the LMS software release, not removing ANY firmware that is
currently distributed via the LMS release.

I still don't agree: which player will still need one of those updates in a few years from now? Anyone can pull a copy of the files today (I've mirrored the update/downloads hosts). If Logitech is not allowing us to distribute those files, then it doesn't matter whether we have them in the installers or on a server which is no longer available.

Keep in mind that firmware images account for about 70MB. Do you really want to download this each and every time you update your LMS? We should really try to slim down those packages. These not only are large downloads for simple updates, but consume a lot of bandwidth if ever you and I have to pay for it.
