there are some stragglers and luddites on very old versions of the
server ,when their current hardware breaks down the may be installing
7.8 and then have 7-8 yo old fw in the players ?

Or if anyone find old ones one ebay ,some original users never managed
to use the products properly .

Part of faulttracing may be to reinstall the firmware .

Note to self and others do make copies of the current fw for any player
you have ,and dont forget the old ones in storage .

For example my controller been stored for years it totally out of sync
if i bring it to life :)

As an exampel there are several user using the very old controller fw
just to have the onboard player functioning (it works better with the
pre Radio/Touch versions of squeezeplay )

Maybe its more practical if as many of as possible back up the fw .
Supose part of it cant really be redistrubuted by anyone for some legal
reasons or I'm i wrong there ?
