That is very good news. Though as I use <surname>, <first name> for many artists (because artistsort/albumartistsort isn't really implemented for cue files) I am likely to have lists of artists such as "Davis, Colin, Kovacevich, Stephen, LSO" - but nevertheless the change is very welcome.
(I have a significant number of captured off air concerts which I store as a single file together with a cue file, so there is no point in specifying artistsort/albumartistsort for only one part of my music collection.) I too (like JJZolx) have often thought that using the AlbumArtist might be a solution, especially if people were recommended to specify the most significant performer as AlbumArtist, rather than merely duplicating multiple performers that might be in the Artist tags. It will be interesting to see what performance penalty there is for the new version, whether it is noticeable or not (presumably it would me most noticeable on low powered NAS boxes, etc).
