My opinion is that this should be separate from BMF. For one, because
the behavior is so different with respect to adding/updating the browsed
content in the database. To me, this would represent what I've always
thought BMF should be ... true browsing of the file system, without
fiddle-funking around with the database. And in theory, it should make
it possible to use the Squeezebox system with local music without ever
even running a library scan. What I would do on my system is hide BMF
and use only 'Browse Files'.

Will gapless playback still be possible without information about the
music files being present in the database? What about dealing with
single-file album rips with CUE sheets?
