Recently I have notice that some of my sort orders have stopped working as I expected. I'm not sure which version of LMS this seems to have occurred in, but I am now on Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1427804757 @ Wed Apr 1 04:05:02 UTC 2015. I am using the 'Single configurable list of artists' option.
As an example, I have albums (and tracks) where the Conductor is André Previn, ConductorSort is PREVIN ANDRE, AlbumArtist is André Previn and AlbumArtistSort is PREVIN ANDRE. However, when I look in library.db, contributors, the namesort is ANDRé PREVIN. This happens for quite a lot, but by no means all, of my tags. So, for instance, Claudio Abbado is treated correctly in all cases, and he is also both an AlbumArtist and Conductor. I'm certain that all my tags and sort tags are correct, and have double-checked with other tools (minimserver and foobar2000). I haven't been able to pin down a pattern that definitely explains why this is happening, but I think it may only happen for some artists that are both AlbumArtists and Conductors (and possibly Composers - using ComposerSort). It may also happen where an artist is both Artist and Conductor. I wonder whether LMS is unaware of ConductorSort and ComposerSort, and so can randomly find first either the AlbumArtist, and so use AlbumArtistSort (correctly) for the namesort, or find Conductor first and use Conductor (not ConductorSort) for namesort. Now I cannot be 100% sure that this used to work as I expected, but I'm almost sure it was OK in the past. Has something changed in the scanning and sorting process? LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. LMS & Squeeze2upnp to MF M1 CLiC (to MF amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Minimserver (server) & upplay (control point) to same renderers & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04 laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. Have a Touch with EDO, and a spare, but don't use. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PasTim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103454
