Having had the problem with conductors, and starting to apply gharris's postscan fix for them, I thought I'd have a look at a few other lists before committing to hundreds of PostScan patches.
Looking at the 7.9 'Additional Browse modes', on my system the sort orders really are not right. I enabled AlbumArtists, Artists and AllArtists, plus Composers. A majority are not in sorted order, but some are. I haven't fathomed the pattern yet but it seems random. It makes these menus unusable for the tags that I had previously understood should be sorted by ArtistSort, AlbumArtistSort and ComposerSort tags. Is it to do with the fact I have multiple artists, multiple album artists, and occasionally multiple composers on tracks? I don't know, but it's baffling. Surely something is awry in the scan? If it helps any I'm currently on "Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1427804757 @ Wed Apr 1 04:05:02 UTC 2015" LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. LMS & Squeeze2upnp to MF M1 CLiC (to MF amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Minimserver (server) & upplay (control point) to same renderers & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04 laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver.
