I'd say stick with .cab or switch to .zip as these both have support on all Operating Systems. Switching to .7z would force a lot of users to download additional software and could put some users off. Possibly not that much of a problem if it's only the betas you compress this way. I have winrar installed which extracts .7z files so not a problem here.
