hi, I won't argue this on the list since it's down to personal preferences, and I am not against the feature you want *as an option*.
personally, I hate using view controls for camera manipulation (maya does this) as it makes constantly 'ef up my cameras when I wanted to change my view. And I see no practical difference between the view controls and the camera controls, except it is slightly more cumbersome to change pivots when you view ( your whole view jumps, as opposed to just changing the pivot, something that would drive me *insane* if I was trying to use it for cameras.) However, if this is something you and many others like, it is not terrible to have the option I think. All I want for the camera control is to have ctrl middle mouse work (simliarly to scroll wheel) in camera view. rotate view (middle mouse) pushing me out suits me just fine ;) So, in summary: I was trying to help in case you didn't know about the cursor, I understand what you are asking for, I think it's functionally worse than what we have, but I have no problem if it becomes an option. I'm a bit sad if Tosmi is no longer in Sofia that means no art hostel :/ But I'll be at Tosmi this summer (you betcha) so we can find the next-best-thing ;) cheers Bassam On Wed, 2011-05-11 at 00:02 +0200, Damir Prebeg wrote: > Hi Bassam, > > Well, I know that I can use cursor as pivot but that's not exactly the > same as usual view orbiting, isn't it? > First of all, it's completely reversed.
