Hi all,

some Mantaflow updates! I am Sebastián, CS student and the one who is currently
working on the fluid branch (soc-2014-fluid). I have picked up the existing
Mantaflow integration and added functionality for fire, integrated the
pointcache and also just finished the wavelet turbulence feature for the
high-resolution option.

All in all it’s working quite nicely, especially because the new internal
Mantaflow uses OpenMP which speeds up the calculations a lot :)

The code is currently at https://github.com/sebbas/BlenderMantaflow
<https://github.com/sebbas/BlenderMantaflow>. There you’ll also find
instructions on how to build if you decide to try it out. Or, you can just go
ahead and check out some renderings that I made earlier:
https://vimeo.com/sebbas/videos <https://vimeo.com/sebbas/videos>.

So far so good, enjoy and best wishes,
Sebastián

P.S: If someone happens to have some cool smoke or fire scenes, then I’d be
more than happy to render and upload them!
