I know there are a couple GeekLists that help with this, and they've been helpful. I just thought I'd get more input for my situation.
I've been trying to find another good game for 2 (maybe 3) players that could be played over lunch that's got a little depth, replayability, etc. Plus hopefully quick setup and not take up too much space. Maybe that's an unreasonable list of requirements. Here's my short list: Catan: the Card Game Carcasonne Hive Battle Line Race for the Galaxy Stone Age I initially thought the Catan card game was 'Catan light', but after reading about it a bit on bgg it looks like it's fairly complex - not that that's a problem, just not what I had assumed. I bought this over the holidays, played it once, it was OK. Gotta give it more plays. (I really like regular Catan:Cities & Knights but unfortunately my main play group does not) I've only played Carcasonne twice. First time was with 3 people and I came away with it not crazy about it, don't remember why. I played it once over the holidays with a 2-player game and like it much more. Not sure why I came away with a different impression. It seemed light and quick, but with enough interesting decisions. I've had Hive and BattleLine recommended personally but haven't played either yet, except Hive once online to see how it works. I'm not sure how good those last 2 are for 2 players. I've only played RftG once and it was painful but I still like the potential. I don't remember where I saw it recommended for 2 players, is it? I've played San Juan several times, and a couple times with only 2 players. I really didn't like it with 2, and don't like it much more with 3-4 anymore. I'm not trying to re-ignite any SanJuan vs RftG discussion. Stone Age, haven't yet played, even on BSW. Heard it's like Agricola- lite. Is it any good for 2?
