I have sometimes stopped in on the first day of a price reduction and
the stores have not had signs up yet. Sometimes the employees did not
even know about it. But the prices still rang up at the expected
reduced value. It may be worth asking an employee to ring one up if
you stop in a store just to check even if the signs do not indicate a
sale.
