Actually, you cannot do that. The rules state that it must be adjacent and orthogonal. So you have to do X XPX X And then you can go diagonally. After that, you have to fill up the slot of another planet.. XXX XPX XXX X XP(newP) X I don't own the game, but that's how I'd interpret the rules.
