This thread reminds me of moment many years ago when I was tracking my
equipment outlay on a semi-hobby occupation. It turns out I was
matching almost dollar-for-dollar a friend's step-sibling's crack
habit. Of course, years on, I still have and use almost all of that
equipment.

He seems to have a uniquely american perspective on quite a few
things. Perhaps not quite so popular in the rest of the world where
people neither care to mix religion and financial planning, nor
typically spend their lives significantly in debt. You'd likely be
astonished at the lack of penetration of credit cards in much of
Europe, for example.
