Yeah. AT subdomain and euro subdomain. That's silly. We can't even agree on a name for these domains. It's cutting against the grain. You're trying to make a distinction where no distinction is possible. "Theme Driven" and "Strategy" - those are horrible names. They don't convey AT and euro... in fact, I contend we shouldn't even have subdomains about such things! They are artifiicial, archaic, and arcane distinctions that don't really fit gaming or gamers, even if they ever did.
Here's a compromise/solution, which of course will please no one and not even be considered or accepted like all great compromises in our time; One forum for gamer gamers - serious complex games that don't clearly fall in another subdomain. Call it "strategy games" because these are games that require you to have a serious strategy to win. AT games are like that. Euros are like that. All their confusing hybrid children are like that. Just think about it. Meanwhile, we can have other subdomains for clearly identifiable groups. Wargames. Children's Games. Party Games. Abstract Games... and so on. But this attempt to build a subdomains for AT and euro is never going to work. We can't even pick names people like... that ought to be the first clue. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
