We got three new games for Christmas. Wok Star, which my wife and I played and thought was OK, but then we played it with four players and it really came alive. Can't wait to break it out again.
And we took advantage of the Days of Wonder holiday sale and got Pirate's Cove and Colosseum. Colosseum is our first auction game, a type of game we weren't that interested in before, but this one is a lot of fun, so perhaps we need to delve further into good auction games? Pirate's Cove would probably have been our last choice from the few Days of Wonder games missing from our game collection, but of course it was the game their deal was built around, and we've loved every DOW game so far, so we took a chance - and we were rewarded! We played this twice in a row (which I don't think we've done with any game yet? Well, maybe Pandemic when we lost in a ridiculous short time). So, yeah, this was an instant favourite, and popular with the whole group! Will likely get it out again on Friday when we have more people over to play. So three out of three great board games for Christmas! We also got my younger brothers a copy of The Adventurers, and we played it a few times. It's fun and all, but I'm glad we didn't add it to our own collection - I don't think it's going to have real staying power. The three teen boys will get a lot of plays out of it though. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
