My best short games ("best" meaning that my son and my friends liked
to play again and again, "short" meaning < 2 hours):
1) Heroscape
2) Memoir'44 + Overlord (they do not want more basic game after tried
Overlord)
3) Fury of the Clansmen (yes, very old)
My son liked Claustrophobia a lot. It's a 2 players game.
I think they may like Legion of Steel (yes, another old game) which
i'm translatin in italian right now.
We played also a lot Dominion as a filler when some other game did'nt
