Definitely not easy to merge, even though I'm not sure of the extent of your changes for layout. I don't think I changed the API, but I use stretchy space between icons now, and I think tiling is simpler. The internal datasource and bindings stuff would also cause difficulty. The icon/caching changes would be straightforward to merge, by comparison. In fact, I had most of that done last summer, but never checked it in since I didn't have time to fully test it.
