It's a bit of a kludge, but the Mac OS X Lion license allows it to be run 
inside of a VM. This is officially supported by VMware and Parallels. If 
Mountain Lion breaks Xcode 3, a Lion VM might be one (sort of annoying) 
workaround, again costing $$$.
