Keep in mind that Papers doesn't claim to be a reference manager at present; 
it's more of a PDF database with connection to PubMed.  It imports bibliography 
storage formats since that's what most people are using for their existing 
data.  If you want BibTeX types, keep using BibDesk, since the round-trip 
conversion through Papers will lose data (as we do with some file formats).
