4 bounces after reboot for me as well. But after those bounces BD  
still won't start up for almost a minute. Just checked again:  
yesterday's nightly, fresh reboot, BD startup time (and automatic  
loading of my main bib file): 1:09 min
every other launch takes one bounce and 3:30 sec
But if the skim notes are responsible for that delay I guess I will  
have to live with that. I certainly won't make less annotations.
