My startup time is now
somewhat faster but still close to one minute with the current

However, this does only affect the first startup after a reboot (and
possibly after a sleeping phase). When I quit Bibdesk and relaunch
the
program and the bib file are loaded in about 3 sec.

Launch time is ~4 bounces in the dock for me after reboot, 1 bounce
after
first launch. Do you have the prefs set to open a file on launch?
You're
seeing a wider disparity than I'd expect.

4 bounces after reboot for me as well. But after those bounces BD
still won't start up for almost a minute. Just checked again:
yesterday's nightly, fresh reboot, BD startup time (and automatic
loading of my main bib file): 1:09 min
every other launch takes one bounce and 3:30 sec

So you /do/ automatically open a file at launch? How fast is it if you set it to do nothing at launch, both initial launch and opening the file for the first time?
