Hmm.  It opens in my browser, here, but I use OmniWeb and have a
different BibDesk version.

Yes, absolutely.  Or select the text and use the Services menu item 
to add it to the frontmost .bib.

It's because of the junk lines they put at the top:

Provider: Macmillian Magazines Ltd.
Content: application/x-research-info-systems

BibDesk doesn't know what to do with those in an RIS file.
