Please explain in simple, non technical detail for someone who knows nothing
whatsoever about TeX, MMD, etc., in clear steps 1, 2, 3, etc. . .

How can I format output of BibDesk entries to a particular bibliography
style?

Where do I find sample of how BibDesk template is used in BibDesk, and
sample templates for bibliography styles (mainly Chicago, but maybe also
others, e.g. MLA, etc.)?

How do I tell BibDesk which template to use for export?

I want to use BibDesk for independent research (no degree program involved)
to output bibliography entries in various styles for copy from BibDesk to
paste in Scrivener.

I have installed MacTeX, and may use MMD and LaTeX at some later point, but
for now I just want to be able to copy bibliography entries in a designated
style from BibDesk to Scrivener, since there doesn't seem to be any way of
decoding BibDesk cite strings directly in Scrivener.

I have added an article entry to BibDesk using default categories, but when
I export as RTF, the output is the same as displayed for the entry in the
lower window of BibDesk, which is a stacked vertical listing.
The following is what appears when exported as HTML -
Phillips:2000uq
The Orthodox West: Old Britain and New England
Phillips, Andrew
Orthodox England  3  4  (2000)

The '3' is entered in BibDesk for Volume, and '4' was entered for Number of
Pages.
The output doesn't make any sense of the volume and pages, and is formatted
as stacked, vertical list instead of linear, horizontal bibliography format,
e.g. -
Phillips, Andrew, The Orthodox West: Old Britain and New England,
Orthodox England,  Vol. 3, March 2000, 4 pp.
