All,

This seems like it should be easy but I can't figure it out.

I have set my bibdesk up so that when I hold the option key down (on the Mac),
I can copy an apalike formatted version of the citation. I would like to modify
that to include the abstract -- ideally, the abstract would begin the line
after the citation.

I have been into my preferences and for the Typeset Preview page found the
Style and Template part of the windoid. That is showing "apalike" and I have
opened the TeX template using the "Edit..." button and commented out the
"\step[fieldset=abstract,null]" line thinking that this would then insert the
abstract.

I find that including the abstract along with the citation is something I do
about 5 times a day when I send off emails to my grad students with a citation
relevant to a question they have asked me about a research problem. Currently I
am doing this the hard way -- inserting the apalike citation and then copying
the abstract from bibdesk and pasting it below the citation in the email. It
seems as if it should be easy to do this in one step. What I am not doing?

Thanks,

Wayne Gray
