I may have spoken too soon... Resetting the LS database solved this but also 
reset all pdfs to be opened by Preview.app. If I switch them back to Skim 
(using the Finder’s “Get Info”, “Open with”, “Always open with”, ”Change 
all...”) then it seems to become slow again. (Skim.app is not at first offered 
in the list, nor does it lose its icon like those in the list. Could it be 
because I don’t keep it in /Applications ?) I’ll try to test more later today.
